We are very excited to be launching our new, completely independent Registered Investment Advisory firm offering fee-only financial life planning and sustainable wealth management.
As many of you may know, I have long harbored a vision that I was put on this planet to help people have a better relationship with their money. This includes helping those who feel called to use their money in the service of their most cherished dreams for themselves, their community, and our planet. When I first started in the financial planning and wealth management business 15 years ago, I told folks I did “pastoral care with money,” and as I and my team have developed over the years, I think it’s fair to say we still do this. But increasingly we’re meeting people — perhaps just like you — who also long for a kind of transformation for themselves and others in relationship to their money in hopes of leading a more balanced, fruitful life. They want a life of “enough – ness” and a sense of confidence and ease that comes from the knowledge that their money is securely supporting them as they live out their goals and dreams, but is also doing less harm to the planet and doing more good in the world.
It is a false dichotomy to say that you cannot both “do well” and “do good.” There is ever increasing evidence that those companies that pay attention to their impact on the environment, their employees and other stakeholders, and their governance practices can in fact do BETTER than those companies that focus only on short-term gain. It is clear that Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) screens, applied to all money activities — investing, spending, and giving — can make a positive difference in the world as well as in personal financial well-being. We at Chicory Wealth are excited to be your advocate and guide along the path to this higher level of financial wellness.
