Jacob Newcomer,
CFP®
Financial Advisor, Partner
I meet with clients to get a true understanding of where they are in life and where they want to be, analyzing and constructing financial plans to help people realize the full potential of their resources. I am a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) and have degrees in finance, information systems, and organizational leadership.
I take pride in making sure my clients understand their financial situation in all life stages and the options, strategies, and investments at their disposal in this complex and dynamic financial world in which we live. I believe the biggest sources of financial stress and missed opportunity are fear of the unknown and uncertainty about the future: “Am I making the right decisions with my resources?” “How might life and/or the world around me change and influence me financially?” I work to alleviate that by carefully explaining how each detail fits into a healthy big picture view.
In a previous life, I worked in various industry finance roles for a large European technology and manufacturing conglomerate and gained valuable experience in business strategy and financial management. However, over time I started to realize that I would find more fulfillment working with and inspiring people directly with regard to money. I’ve now been doing this much longer than I was in corporate America and have not regretted it for a second.
My wife Lauren and I have a son named Cameron and a dog named Max. We live in Decatur, GA. For me, a balanced life includes neighborhood walks with our dog, real estate shows on TV, following financial markets in depth, and not feeling guilty occasionally ordering fries. I can also be found eagerly discussing all things travel, soccer, and adding to my shoe collection.
