Our bold initiative for social change
We are living in a pivotal time, brought on by accelerating climate change, increased discriminatory ideologies, and very real threats to democracy. To be faithful to our mission of aspiring toward a more just and sustainable world, we have made a strategic commitment to addressing those issues: CHICORY 1% FOR SOCIAL JUSTICE.
Through our 1% program, Chicory Wealth commits to:
- Donating at least 1% of our annual revenue to locally grounded organizations working for systemic social change;
- Amplifying critical issues, program initiatives, and involvement opportunities across the broader Chicory community through virtual and in-person events; and
- Supporting nonprofit employees through Empowered Money, which gives change-makers access to financial workshops and free, 1-on-1 coaching sessions led by Chicory’s financial advisors.
1% in 2026: Justice for Immigrants, Refugees, and Migrants in the U.S.
In communities across the U.S., we have seen an abhorrent rise in immigrant violence at the hands of ICE; a complete disregard for constitutional rights; and inhumane detention and deportation practices. It is prudent that we join together in the fight for immigrant, refugee, and migrant justice.
This year, Chicory is proud to partner with organizations on the frontlines supporting families via legal aid, job security, safe housing, community aid efforts, political organizing, and more.
Direct action and community-led efforts are critical to addressing the needs of immigrant families. In the spirit of grassroots organizing, Chicory has selected 8 nonprofits this year, based in communities where one of our financial advisors lives and works. Many of these organizations operate with less than $1M in revenue.
Arkansas United
Arkansas United is dedicated to empowering immigrants and their communities through community organizing, leadership development, advocacy, promoting civic engagement, and immigrant integration.
Center for Immigrant Progress
The Center for Immigrant Progress is an immigrant-led organization in Lake County, IL, dedicated to dismantling barriers that immigrant families face in health, education, legal access, and civic life.
CIMA
Compañeros Inmigrantes de las Montañas en Accion (CIMA) connects, strengthens and organizes communities to take action for immigrants’ rights in Western North Carolina.
Convivir Colorado
Convivir is a leadership program – for immigrant, refugee, and first-generation 6th-12th-grade youth from any nationality and with any immigration status – that helps them channel their leadership through the lens of their migrant journey so they can strengthen their sense of self and continue practicing agency as they make a positive impact on their Colorado communities..
GLAHR
The Georgia Latino Alliance for Human Rights (GLAHR) is a non-profit, community-based organization that educates, organizes, and empowers Latino immigrants across Georgia to defend and advance their civil and human rights. GLAHR has established a powerful network of informed leaders, engaged community members, and local committees that combat racial discrimination, economic injustice, and state-inflicted violence, including detentions, deportations, and police abuse.
Just Neighbors
Just Neighbors provides high-quality immigration legal services to low-income immigrants, asylees, and refugees in Washington, DC, Maryland and Virginia, while building community through education, advocacy, and volunteerism.
OneAmerica
Across the state of Washington, OneAmerica organizes immigrant and refugee leaders and allies to build power in their communities, and to run campaigns that create a just immigration system, inclusive education for all, and a truly representative democracy. Siembra NC
Siembra NC is a 501c4 grassroots organization focused on defending communities across North Carolina from abusive employers and landlords, ICE, and bad políticos.
Join Us
We believe that those of us at the “grass-tops” have the responsibility to use our influence and resources to support those organizing and building power at the “grass-roots.” Therefore, this initiative involves more than a financial donation from our company. We will also be learning from these organizations and sharing information about their programs with others.
We also hope this initiative will inspire other businesses and individuals to consider their own personal 1% commitment for social justice.
