What is Chicken & Egg Films? Chicken & Egg Films is a nonprofit organization that champions women and gender-expansive documentary filmmakers by providing funding, mentorship, and community support to help them tell vital stories and build sustainable careers. Since its founding in 2005 to address “chicken or egg” funding inequities, it has grown to provide over $15 million in grants and thousands of hours of mentorship to hundreds of filmmakers globally, with the goal of disrupting gender-based inequities in the film industry.
